


Financial Aid
Students need to complete the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to find out if they
qualify for Federal financial assistance.
To complete the FAFSA you will need:
- Previous year's tax return. For example, if you are filing the FAFSA for the 2010 school year,
you will need the tax return from 2009.
- Federal School Code. The Federal School Code for Kussad Institute of Court Reporting is
035564.
- Department of Education Personal Identification Number (PIN). This is used to electronically
sigh the FAFSA. If you do not have a PIN, you can request one on the Department of Education
website . The student and the parents (if applicable) will need a PIN number to sign electronically.
Once you have your PIN, you can complete and sign your FAFSA electronically and then you will
be able to check the results of your FAFSA and make corrections to your application online.
- File your FAFSA online, once you and your parent(s) have obtained your PIN, be sure to list
Kussad Institute of Court Reporting, Federal School Code, 035564, in the school release section.
Be sure to complete each step and write or print out your confirmation number when filing the form
online. You will need the confirmation number in case any issues come up when processing your
application.
-After you file your form, contact the financial aid officer at 512-443-7286.
-Once you've filed your form, you can check the status of your application online, or you can call
the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243 to use their automated response
system.
Veteran Benefits
The Institute is eligible to participate in the program for Veterans benefits.
